Introduction

The LAS377 Class Schedule in the Syllabus has been revised. Attendance in class on Tuesday November 20 is optional. Reflection 8 is due 10 hours earlier than originally scheduled. The Term Paper is due 3 days later than originally scheduled.

My intent in making these changes is to facilitate good discussions on "The Shallows". The extra time on the term paper should allow you to read "The Shallows" before the class discussions. I enjoyed reading the book and thought it was worth changing the schedule so you could benefit from the book.

Optional Class

On Tuesday, November 20, I will be in the class room to provide any help you need with planning your term paper. Your attendance is optional (mine is not). Also, if you want to meet with your Presentation Group, you can use the class room and the normal class time to have a group meeting. For anyone wanting to discuss the term paper, you can "drop in" anytime between 10:00 and 11:15 am and you do not need to stay once your questions are answered.

Reflection 8

Reflection is is requested by Noon on Wednesday, November 28. It is officially due at 11:59 PM on November 28. The reason for the Noon request is that I would like to grade all of your reflections before class on November 29. If most of you turn in your Reflections well before midnight, I should have them all graded before class.

Term Paper

The Term Paper is requested by Noon on Sunday December 2. It is officially due at 11:59 PM on December 2. I would like to spend Sunday afternoon and evening grading and that is the reason for the Noon request.
