BAD220 - Unit 1 Comments
The title of this course in Advanced Business Communications. The spreadsheet we created this week actually had two "advanced" features. Updated as a test on 2015/07/31
Chart Formatting
Business information is frequently presented in charts and graphs. You saw that it was easy to insert a chart into a spreadsheet. It is not as easy to make the chart clear to the users of the spreadsheet. In Assignment 1, the chart could be made clearer by relating the employee names more directly to the pie chart. This very brief video shows one way to do this. The video has no sound. In the video, I double clicked the chart to change the Excel ribbon so that the chart could be improved. Cell Names
Business spreadsheets can be very large and use multiple sheets within a single Excel Workbook. Naming cells makes the formulas easier to read. Using values from cells instead of literals makes the Excel Workbook much easier to maintain. The simple technique of naming cells can save significant time and effort on a large project.
